Three

At the next day, the day after having dinner together, John plans to teach Savannah how to surf. But she is very upsed about the very cold temperature of the water so she doesn't want to go in first, but after a while, she compels herself to get in.
Svannah is a natural in surfing, because she has got a really good balance. She made gymnastics over a couple of years.
She wants John to go with her into the church, but John doesn't know if he wants to because the last time he was in church was in his childhood. He is searching for excuses and he finds a good one: He doesn't have any clothes by him so he couldn't accompany her. But Savannah has a great idea! She askes Tim if he could borrow John some of his clothes :) What cute idea!
After having lunch together at Savannahs home, they decided to go surfing again. They stayed all afternoon in the water!
John doesn't know why but he has the need to tell Savannah the truth about everything! He told her something about the coin-collection of his father and he also told her that he was a jerk.
Savannah wants to meet Johns dad because she likes people which have a passion for something.
John asked Savannah to go for lunch after her meeting. She said that she normaly doesn't go out with strangers but she thinks that she could trust him! ;)

Two

At the beginning, John doesn't know why he jumped into the water to carry out her bag. But then he knows:  He has done it because of her warm smile! And then, something makes click if he looks into her eyes. oooh how romantic could he ever be!? :)
The brunette, her name is Savannah, is glad to pick John up for dinner because of his help. She walks with him home to accompany him to the dinner-place.
Savannah told him that she is twenty-one years old, John is twenty-three. So there is only a differnece about two years and not five or six, how John think at the beginning as he meets her.
The dinner takes places in a really big house and John is speechless about that. He is going to meet a few new people and this fact makes him very nervous.
At the house, John talkes with a lot of new people and I think he really likes them all :) It is a great experience for him to get known with other guys at the same age.
Savannah works with autistic kids to help them getting healthy or have a better life. It is a very good move from her I think and in my eyes she is a very lovely person.
After dinner, Tim tooks John home. John forgot that he promised to learn Savannah how to surf, but she remembers him about that.
John is very worried about the fact that his father would not speak with him. I think it is very sad that the two men haven't seen each other for about three years and they don't know how to communicate.

One

Chapter one is very informative about the childhood of John. He tells that he haven't speek a word with his mother before, because she ran away a long time ago. His father thinks that she only get married to young and so she doesn't come to terms with her problems.
John and his father are different like day and night. His father has sand-coloured hair and John has got brown hair. But anyway John really loves his dad :) Johns father raised John on his own and he had never any problems with that. John grew up in poor circumstances and sometimes he blamed his dad for the less money they have.
In Chapter one there is also Johns youth descriped. The conflicts with his father, the parties, the girls and the school are comprised.
John goes to Germany with the army and he hadn't got lots of money. But he always said he had less, but enough.
After three years in Germany, John went back to his hometown. His dad picks him up at the airport - the only problem is that both doesn't know what they should say to each other. They are speechless. At home, they talked a little bit but nothing great.
At the beach, John met two girls: a blonde and a brunette. The blonde one ignores him but the brunette one talked a little bit with him and she stays in his mind the whole day! Then two boys come and the one with the pink shirt slapped the purse of the brunette into the sea. He doesn't want to pick it up for her - he just want to buy her a new one. But the brunette begs him to put the purse out of the water. Finally John jumped into the waves...

Prologue

Oh my god!
I think that the prologue at the beginning from the book is very sad! That John Tyree has to go to the army is tragically but he has to left his dreamgirl Savannah! John hasn't seen her since six years and finally he sees her again at her house. I think that this was a very tragic moment for John because it is not easy to see your girlfriend again. What I also think is that he loves her anymore and because of that it is so tragic to see her again.
I hope that this book will not be so sad than I think because I hate it if I had to cry! We will see.. Bye!
